Custom Jewelry Design FAQ
Custom Jewelry Design FAQ
Designing a custom piece of jewelry is an exciting process, and it’s natural to have questions along the way. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we hear from customers considering a custom design.
Getting Started
Do I need to know exactly what I want?
Not at all. Some customers come in with detailed ideas, while others are just starting with a general concept. Our role is to guide you through the process and help shape your vision into a finished design.
How do I get started?
The best way to begin is with a consultation. You can schedule an appointment by filling out the form on our website, calling (603) 749-3129, or sending us a text.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are always welcome, but we recommend scheduling an appointment for custom design so we can dedicate time specifically to your project.
The Design Process
How long does the custom design process take?
The timeline can vary depending on the complexity of the design, but most custom pieces are completed within 4-6 weeks from the time the design is approved.
Will I be able to see the design before it’s made?
Yes. You’ll review a detailed 3D rendering of your piece and have the opportunity to make adjustments before anything is created. We also produce a physical model that you can see and try on, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.
What if I want to make changes?
That’s a normal part of the process. We’ll work with you to refine the design until it feels right before moving forward.
What if I don’t like the design?
You’re never locked into a design early in the process. We’ll continue refining it with you until you’re confident in the final direction.

Materials & Stones
Can I use my own diamonds or gemstones?
Yes. Many customers choose to incorporate stones from existing jewelry, especially for heirloom redesign projects. We’ll evaluate your stones and discuss the best way to use them in your new design.
Can you help me choose a diamond or gemstone?
Absolutely. We’ll guide you through the selection process, explaining the differences in quality and helping you choose a stone that fits your design and budget.
Do you offer lab-grown and natural diamonds?
Yes. We offer both options and will help you understand the differences so you can make the choice that’s right for you.
Pricing
How much does custom jewelry cost?
Custom jewelry can vary widely in cost depending on the design, materials, and gemstones involved.
We’ll talk through your budget during the consultation and design a piece that aligns with your goals. You’ll receive a clear estimate before moving forward with production.
Is custom jewelry more expensive than buying something in the case?
Not necessarily. In many cases, custom design allows you to prioritize what matters most—whether that’s the center stone, the setting, or specific design elements—so you can create something meaningful within your budget.
Heirloom Jewelry
Can you redesign my existing jewelry?
Yes. We specialize in transforming existing pieces into something new while preserving their meaning.
Can you recreate a piece exactly as it was?
In many cases, yes. If a piece is too worn to wear safely, we can recreate it using new materials while maintaining the original design.
